The paper describes and analyzes the main topics, concepts
and stages in the 40 years life of the International seminar
"Future of Religion" held within the Academic Program of the
Inter-University Center Dubrovnik. Three stages of the course
development are emphasized: 1977 - 1991, 1991 - 1999, 2000 - 2016.
The topics and the discussions at the seminar sessions are analyzed
as theological, philosophical, sociological reflection on religion,
and as ethical attitude toward intellectual and cultural
developments and processes during the social changes, the war in
ex-Yugoslavia and the post-communist transformations in the end of
20th and the beginning of 21st century. The
mutual collaboration and understanding among participants coming
from variety of nations, sciences, religions is emphasized as
a special intellectual ethos of the "Future of Religion" course.
The course relevant publications - individual and collective
- are outlined. The problem of the Humanities humanism is
given a special attention.
