In the center of the analysis stands the idea that communist
ideology has certain characteristics that make possible its
instrumentalisation within the framework of existing strategies for
the emancipation of peripheral (Eastern) societies in relation to
the core (Western modernity). The situation of these communities
within their asymmetric interactions with the Western modern core
and characteristics of these societies related to their peripheral
position, create a certain "predisposition" for one particular
perception of the communist ideology.
